EMERGENCY HOUSING
The Cyclone in Oman in 2007 made some 4,000 families homeless. What the government required was simple, low cost flat-packed buildings that did not require skilled tradesmen for their assembly and which could use in-built solar power generation to meet the energy needs of the occupants. Blue Planet Buildings’ concept was developed in response to this need for emergency accommodation.
With the increasing destruction Australia is experiencing through cyclones, floods and bush fires, Blue Planet Buildings can provide the comfort, flexibility and security to meet those needs. From forward command centres to demountable accommodation - our robust, and high-specification buildings meet every emergency housing need.
The flat pack design lends itself to speed of delivery and build. Easily transportable and scalable to the disaster’s requirements, generating individual energy needs using in-built solar is the sensible solution.
OUR AIM
To lower the overall carbon foot print.
To generate individual energy needs using in-built solar power.
To reduce transportation costs with the flat pack design (6 to a truck).
WE ACHIEVE THIS BY
Increasing size without increasing cost through adding to our modular units.
Pre-installing power and plumbing within the panels to your specifications, i.e toilets, sinks and showers.
Giving you the ability to disassemble and reassemble on other sites.
Making the following operations possible:
- Ground water pump areas
- Remote accommodation
- Cold storage
- Water capture facility
